The Long Way Around to Called to Consulting
Fourteen years ago, I started as an RDA, and quickly learned what I loved most wasn't just the clinical work, it was the people in the chair. That love for people carried me through team lead roles, treatment coordination, case acceptance, and eventually practice management, and it taught me something simple: patients don't need a sales pitch, they need someone who cares enough to explain and listen.
From there, I leaned deeper into practice management, leading entire teams through the schedules, huddles, and follow up no manual prepares you for. That's where I learned the lesson my business is built on: heart gets a team started, but systems are what keep them going.
A mentor once saw something in me before I saw it myself. He believed I had more to give than one practice at a time, and that pushed me to co-found a dental assistant academy, a business built on training people well, not fast. He also told me something I've never forgotten: "You don't just fix teeth."
Now, 14 years in, I understand exactly what he meant. This work has always been about trust and people, not just teeth. That's why today I walk alongside dental offices all over the country, helping them build the follow up, leadership, and systems that hold a team together long after I'm gone.
That's what Called to Consulting is built on. Not a program built in a vacuum, but a relationship rooted in honesty, patience, faith, and a whole lot of love for people. Wherever your team is, there's a way for us to work together. You don't just fix teeth. You build something that lasts.
